Getting Started
How do I create my first trip?
Tap the "+" button on the home screen. Enter your trip name, choose a destination (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Multi-Park, Universal, or Other), set your start and end dates, and optionally include the pre-built packing checklist. Tap "Start the Countdown!" and you're off.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no account, no email sign-up, no login. Just download the app and start planning. Your data is stored locally on your device and we never see it.
Is this app only for Disney trips?
Not at all! While our packing templates are optimized for theme park vacations, you can use Happily Ever Planner for any trip. Choose "Universal Resort" or "Other Theme Park" as your destination, or just name it whatever you like. The countdown, packing list, itinerary, dining, and budget features work for any vacation.
Features
What's included in the free version?
Free users get 1 trip with the full countdown timer (days, hours, minutes, seconds) and the complete packing checklist with 60+ pre-loaded theme park essentials across 6 categories. You can also add your own custom packing items.
How do I check off packing items?
Tap any item to check or uncheck it. You'll feel a satisfying haptic tap when you do. Use the filter buttons at the top to see "All," "To Pack," or "Packed" items. Long-press any item to delete it.
Can I add my own packing items?
Yes! There's an "Add item" bar at the bottom of the packing list screen. Type your item and tap + to add it. Custom items appear under a "Custom" category.
How does the daily itinerary work?
When you create a trip, the app automatically generates a day for each date of your trip. Select a day from the horizontal selector, then tap + to add activities. Choose a time slot, activity type (Ride, Show, Dining, Character Meet, Break, Shopping, or Other), and give it a name. Activities sort by time automatically.
How do I delete an activity, reservation, or expense?
Long-press (press and hold) on any item — itinerary activity, dining reservation, packing item, or expense — to see the delete option.
Premium & Purchases
What does Premium unlock?
Premium ($4.99, one-time) unlocks: unlimited trips, the daily itinerary planner, dining reservation tracker, budget tracker with expense categories, and the ability to share your countdown with friends.
Is Premium a subscription?
No. It's a one-time purchase of $4.99. You pay once and own it forever. No recurring charges, no annual renewals.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open the app, navigate to the Premium screen, and tap "Restore Previous Purchase" at the bottom. This checks your Apple ID and re-activates Premium automatically. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Since the purchase is processed through the Apple App Store, refund requests go through Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
All your trip data — trips, packing lists, itineraries, dining reservations, expenses — is stored locally on your device. We never see, collect, or transmit any of it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What happens if I delete the app?
Since all data is stored on your device, deleting the app permanently deletes your trip data. Your Premium purchase can be restored (it's tied to your Apple ID), but trip data cannot be recovered after deletion.
Can I transfer data to a new phone?
If you restore your new iPhone from an iCloud backup or use Apple's direct device transfer, your app data should carry over automatically. We recommend keeping your iCloud backups current before switching phones.
